The title of the book that I am going to share with you all is entitled 'Gone' by Michael Grant.

This book is about all the people over the age of 15 disappearing. This leaves all the below 15's stranded in a new universe, one without teachers, parents, or doctors. Its obviously frightenting, however its made even more so by the fact that some of the children have mutant powers, such as being able to shoot lasers out of their hands, teleport , read others power levels, and defy gravity.

One such mutant is Sam Temple. Reeling form the loss of his mother, he is determined to find a way out of the Fallout Alley Youth Zone, or FAYZ as it is known. However, even if Sam is a gentle and caring person, his competitor Caine is not. Bitter due to a long hidden secret, he is determined to make Sam pay. He is determined to rule the FAYZ with an iron fist. Initially pretending to be their friend, Caine shows his true colours, resulting in somone's death. Sides are chosen-weak or strong. Cruel or humane. In the middle of it all, a shocking discovery is made. This gives evryone wnother chance, however, Caine keeps it a secret. Now, its a question of survival. With the tense final standoff between Sam and Caine, will good truimph over evil, or will Sam lose to Caine?

This book is not easily found in Singapore, however, it is available in certain libraries here.
