The book i am sharing is The Girl Who Could Fly . This book is written by Victoria Forester.
The main character is Piper McCloud, who is the only person in her country,Lowland,or even the whole world, who can fly. Appalled by her little girl's talent, Piper's mother has determinedly kept her away other children, and on the ground.
However, Piper loves flying. It comes naturally to her just like breathing. When Piper is 9, her mother agrees to let her go to the town's 4th of July fair on the account that she promises not to fly. But when she is in the midst of playing a baseball game, she breaks her promise and she soars up into the sky to catch a baseball.
Consequently, all hell breaks loose and the people of Lowland county are afraid of her and Piper's mother is at her wit’s end. Just then, Dr Hellion 'comes to the rescue' and invites Piper to join a top-secret, maximum-security institute ( I.N.S.A.N.E) for kids like Piper who have exceptional abilities.
Left with no other choices, her parents sent Piper off to the institute tearfully. There, it seems at first a utopia as Piper meets other truly extraordinary kids. But this utopia for the specially gifted comes with a hefty price, one that Piper can never pay...
