The book that i'm sharing is called 'Barkbelly'. This story tells the tale of a young boy named Barkbelly. During one silver-starry night, an egg falls from the sky down to the small village of Pumbleditch. The egg is discovered by an old couple and taken to their home. They accidentally drop it into the fireplace and the next day, out comes Barkbelly. Unlike other children, Barkbelly is made of wood. He wants to find his own home, as he does not feel a sense of belonging in the village. But the villagers had never seen people like Barkbelly, so Barkbelly leaves the village in search of people who knew about him. As Barkbelly enters the city, more people are astonished to see him. But Barkbelly learns a horrible thing: His own people are used as slaves and this makes him want to save the eggs that are being traded.
