Percy Jackson is a half-blood(half-human, half-god) who is one of the children of The Big Three. The Big Three are Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Monsters cannot be seen by regular humans and are attracted to the scent of half-bloods. This book starts with Percy encountering some Laistrygonians (cannibal giants) in a game of dodgeball. Just as Percy was about to get creamed by two scorching metal balls, his best friend in the school, Tyson, miraculously caught the two metal balls as they slammed into him. Another miracle occurs as Annabeth, Percy's camp friend, saves him and Tyson.
Annabeth is also a half-blood, a child of Athena, a genius in Greek Mythyology. Annabeth does not seem to like Tyson much. She arrives with bad news and she summons a taxi. The Grey Sisters taxi is the kind of taxi that would make your stomache feel quesy. After a grueling ride, Percy manages to get a clue on their next mission. Just then, they find out that camp is being attacked by two firing breathing bronze bulls. They and the other campers manage to subdue the monsters. But the crisis does nto stop here, Thalia (Zeus half-blood daughter) - who was turned into a tree after her father took pity on her when she was dying, her tree(spirit) protects the borders of Camp Half Blood, training camp for half-bloods, but to the heroes dismay, the tree had been poison and was now sick and withered.
How would the story continue from here? Who poisoned the tree? Who exactly is Tyson? Is he a enemy monster or a true friend? The story entangles with Greek Myths, Great God Pan, Grover( a satyr friend of Percy), A cyclops, an old friend, a deadly army, a brother and the scarced Sea of Monsters. Read the book to find out more about this unique adventure!
Percy Jackson series: Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters, Percy Jackson and the Titans curse, Percy Jackson and The Battle of The Labyrinth, Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian.
My Views: This has been the best book ever since Harry Potter. The perfect setting is the start of a good story. I hope that the adventure is never-ending. The suspense at the start of a quest when a new prophecy is being told is overwhelming. Thumbs up for Percy Jackson!
